Is Powells endorsement of Obama based on race?

Powell said the key factor in his choosing Oboma was based on conservative appointments to the supreme court? I did not buy that especially when the economy is in terrible shape and our world standing is sinking rapidly. Tom Brokaw asked Powell if his choice was based on race so that is why I am throwing this question out to you.
