Is it okay to smash the front of a CRT TV or Monitor?

I have a youtube channel where me and my friend smash stuff but i wanted to know if it was safe to smash the front of a tv I mean i know it has chemicals and poisonous stuff inside but i mean can i do it and still be safe? is there a way?
