I had this red hair color in Germany. It was fire engine red and it didn't fade. Any clues to what it was?

It didn't look tacky...it was just pure red and not purple or orange hued or pinkish. There was no kool-aide about it. It was awesome and i had to dye it black for the airforce to cover it up but it still even then showed through.
